HBCC UFO Research Note: Please note that this will be the final post from HBCC UFO Research.
I have had a wonder time since mid 2000 meeting, talking on the telephone and writing to the thousands of eyewitnesses who were kind enough to share their experiences with me. Along this journey, I have made long lasting friends, not only with the witnesses, but so many in the media who were kind enough to have me on their radio programs and the countless newspapers who lent a hand in getting the stories out in hopes of finding more folks to a incident, or who directed their readers to my site.
I am leaving the UFO field for good, it is time for me to get back to all the things I enjoyed before getting involved with UFOs. The funny thing is I have spent so much time on this unusual topic I forgot I had another life. All I did was to place every waking hour into the UFO topic. So, time for family and many of the things I once did. Plus a big thing is to look after my health.
I have already set all of my "Report A UFO" links to Mr. John Hayes who operates a great UFO resource. John will be receiving all of the sighting reports that would have come into HBCC UFO Research. You can find UFOINFO at: http://www.ufoinfo.com/
Thank you to everyone for your reports and kindness and also my deepest thanks to the folks who helped in supporting HBCC UFO Research.
Take good care, Brian Vike - Director of HBCC UFO Research.

Additional Information:
Hi Brian,
I am guessing you are in British Columbia, or the Pacific Northwest. Quite a bit out of my normal travel area. Anyway, it is still good to hear from you and to learn of your organization.
I was in the US Marine Corps, and served in the SE Asia area during 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, and 1969. It was during my 1965-66 tour that we were located to the northeast of Da Nang, and I was in an Artillery Fire Direction Center (FDC). We controlled close to 100 Field Artillery pieces in the Da Nang area, and could bring about 500 rounds onto one football field sized spot in about 3 minutes.
I have had some injuries from auto crashes since then and do not remember just when the incident occurred, but it was between February and July of 1966. I was on the late night shift and we got a call from the air base that a UFO had come in and landed at a set of coordinates generated by the GCA Radar. These plotted out in an area that we referred to as "Happy Valley." The IFF response had been un heeded and the radar and visual tracking from an airborne craft in the area did not match any known aircraft. Since we were close to the DMZ, no one wanted to take any chances and we were given clearance to fire all available artillery on it. We had about 70+ pieces that could range the target so we plotted a time on target mission and fired 6 rounds per piece on the target.
The GCA radar kept watch on the area and the observer stayed a safe distance out of the lines of fire. We got the usual artillery bursts and at the end of the barrage there was a huge flash that registered on the GCA radar. The air observer reported that nothing had left the area, and it was too dark to look for damage until sunup. We filed the fire mission request and record of fire with the other log sheets and had been advised that a ground crew was going in for TDA at first light. When we came on shift 2 days later we looked for the record of fire sheet to see what the ground crew had found.
We were amazed to find that the entire set of records for that mission had vanished. No one would admit to being told to pull it and we never did find out what we had hit other than the initial comments that had come back to us while we were firing on the target. I still have no clue what we shot. It was big and got a lot of people excited. No other sightings were reported in our area that I heard about before I left in August of 1966. This has always been a puzzling experience, wandering around in the back of my mind. I have often wondered if we had in deed taken out an extraterrestrial space craft, and how badly we had irritated whom ever it belonged to.
Sorry I don't have more or better descriptive information on the craft or the post attack findings.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell this story. I would be interested in hearing about any thing that may have been found out about this incident as it has been bothering me for over 40 years now.
Thanks, and best wishes to you.
Additional Information:
Maybe there is more there than I realize, but I think your interview would be quite short. My involvement in this was minimal, albeit that I was an excellent FDC data computer and chart operator -- took out a 3ft. wide suspension bridge with 2 shots once at 14,000 yards with an aerial observer, Australian Chap, and a darn, fine one at that! Never did get to meet the fellow, just a voice on the radio.
I would appreciate hearing about any other information that may surface on this one. I think I still keep one eye out over the brush any time I go out. Had to have really irritated someone!
Back about 1983 in December, I was flying back to St. Louis, from Phoenix, for a week of training, and we were routed through the Denver airport. We
were in the four corners area (AZ, UT, NM, CO) and I was looking out the window, Rt. side, a couple of rows behind the wing, -- always like to see where I am going and what is on the ground, if possible -- We were at about 34,000 ft, and there was some cloud cover at about 25,000 - 28,000 ft. I was watching the terrain transition as we came out of the NE Arizona barren landscape, and suddenly became aware of a large dome-shaped object at about 29-30,000 ft. It appeared to be shaped similar to a State capitol building, except it had a lot of antenna arrays on it. The bottom that I could see, appeared to be flat. It was hovering for about 20 seconds and then it descended slowly into a cloud bank. I did not see any flashing lights, or moving parts. It was a dull silver-gray color. It was just a surprising.
The antenna arrays were the most surprising thing to me about the surface of the object. I felt no rush of excitement or panic, just marveled at the size and appearance. I was looking at the object at about a 10 degree down angle and estimated that it was about 1 - 1 1/2 miles away. I would guess that it was about 75 ft. wide and about 45 - 50 ft. high. I was wide awake and I don't drink or use mind altering drugs -- legal or illegal. I have never seen another unidentified object in the air. This was really a strange experience.
Anyway, that is the extent of my UFO mystery experiences. Best wishes to you and your group. Maybe one of these days we will get it all sorted out!
Best wishes to you.
My many thanks to this gentleman for sending in this amazing report.

Military Man Observes UFO At Phuoc Vinh, Vietnam
Posted: March 28, 2009
Date: 1969
Time: 21:00 hrs - 23:00 hrs
Location of Sighting: Phuoc Vinh, Vietnam.
Number of witnesses: Just me, as far as I know.
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Couldn't be sure, far away.
Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was pulling Green-line duty with 3 other 1st Cav. soldiers who were sleeping. I had a star light scope, a radio and all the stuff you would expect in/on a bunker. This bunker was a big well fortified bunker. We were all on top of this bunker from my best recollection. I was pulling my stint, let the others sleep. This bunker was on the western facing perimeter. This night was a beautiful night with no overcast. Many small brilliant stars were in the night sky. No moon, as far as I remember especially facing out west. The starlight scope was working very well. I'm going into a little detail to set the stage leading up to my sighting. I know it's not to the point Please bear with me.
As I was scanning the western night sky. and all of a sudden something to the Northwest caught my eye. It was a very brilliant whitish, silver and with a hint of blue more of a rounded shape. It was fairly far away. The main thing about this object was it would move to my left, or South in jerky movements , hover, do it again and again. It never lost the same brilliance or colors the entire time. Additionally it left a amber or reddish trail (like a tracer) as it moved only to suddenly stop on a dime. I watched this thing for several minutes.
By this time it was in the Southern Horizon. Then, all of a sudden it shot up skyward on a 45 degree angle towards the North. It was totally out of sight in seconds. I was thinking should I report this? I decided not. I would wait to see if anyone else would, then I would to. I didn't have the presence of mine to wake the other guys. Mainly, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I have reported this to Mufon about 1-2 years ago. I keep my eyes skyward quite a bit now. I've had 2 other sightings. One, in Poerta Vallarta Mexico. last year 2008.
It was a fast mover across Banderos Bay 20-30 miles in only several seconds. It was very dim,in a very dark night sky. The other was a very unusual huge transparent round ball shaped thing. It had either port holes or crater like figures within it. We were driving North in Lockport, Illinois when I looked up about 60 degrees high in the sky. It was moving pretty fast, Maybe a thousand MPH. It was in the clouds, but I could easily make out the outline of this, whatever it was. That about sums up stuff I've seen. There is no doubt in my mine about my 1969 R.V.N. sighting. That, was not from this world. I hope this helps.
Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.

Canadian Outrage At Fox News - Red Eye's Greg Gutfeld On Canadian Military (Idiot)
Posted: March 24, 2009
The spectacularly stupid and offensive Fox News show Red Eye with host Greg Gutfeld came out with what I can only call an idiotic statement on his program. It is a stupid thing to say anytime, but with four of Canada's fallen heroes coming home now, it is a slap in the face to the Canadian troops, their families and the rest of the people of Canada. I don't know how people like Greg Gutfeld finds this a funny topic to bring to his show. He should have more respect for Canada's military and their families and our country in general. I am appalled !

Yuma, Arizona, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Rifle Range Landing Pad Imprints
Posted: March 16, 2009
Date: March, Wednesday 1984
Time: 6:00 a.m.
Number of witnesses: 5
Number of objects: 3
Shape of objects: 3 Hexagonal shaped landing pad imprints in sand about 3-4 feet in diameter with small hexagon shapes filling inside of larger hexagon. Each pad was about 3 feet wide and the three formed a triangle. Each pad was about 8-10 feet apart.
Weather Conditions: clear, sun just coming up, no wind, no clouds.
Description: Four Marines and myself observed 3 Hexagonal shaped landing pad imprints in sand about 3-4 feet in diameter with small hexagon shapes filling inside of larger hexagon (looked like a honeycomb) just over the side barriers of the rifle range. There was no craft, but the imprints formed a perfect triangle and were about 3 inches deep. The circumference of the three pad impressions was about 8-10 feet from each other and in the middle was some small
charred remains, which I picked up (pebble size, black and rocky) then put back down. No foot prints or residual blast area was obvious. Whatever landed and took off, did so with no blast effect.
Otherwise the site would have been obliterated. I know of no propulsion system we have that can land and take off without a blast from engines. We were soon told by Sergeant to get away from there. Soon afterwards, the Naval Investigative Service (NIS) showed up and took Polaroid photos.
TV/Radio: Never reported by NIS.

Adak Island Military Man With Top Secret Clearance Spots UFO
Posted: February 10, 2009
Date: 1972/73
Time: N/A
I was stationed on Adak and have a UFO story for you if interested. Let me know.
Additional Information:
Okay let me get my papers together. I kept my Navy papers and I can prove I was stationed there. I was a radioman with a top secret clearance. I was stationed at the navfac unit with ocean system technicians, it either late Fall or early Spring maybe as late as May of 73. We knew the guys that operated the large microwave dish antennas and they told us we would be able to see our astronauts going by in orbit if the sky was clear.
We went out that night, spotted our astronauts in orbit. We waited for it to come around again and when it did an object, just pinpoint of light about as large as our capsule came shooting in at a high rate of speed and kind of zig zagged around the astronauts and making right angle maneuvers then shot back out and was gone. This all took about 5 seconds. My friend and I both looked at each other and said, did you see that? We both knew we could not talk about it because of our clearances. I don't remember if this was the last Apollo mission or was it one of the unmanned Skylab missions. Any questions, please feel free to ask.
Thank you to the witness for the sighting report.
