Art - Part Of The Crash Crew On Adak Island Alaska Has Amazing UFO Encounter (Images/Letter/Envelope/Audio Interview)

From Brian Vike's UFO Files.

Location Information: Adak is an island midway along the Aleutian Island chain southwest of mainland Alaska at 177 degrees west. At 52 degrees north it is not exactly arctic, nor is it temperate, but it is nearly always buffeted by cold, wet winds.

Most of the wind is generated by an endless series of cyclonic storms. The weather report for aviators almost never varies: Winds 25-40 gusting to 60, mostly cloudy with layers at 800 feet, 1200 feet, 2000 feet. Visibility 7 miles, rain. Temp 40 degrees F (plus or minus 5 degrees for most of the year).

It is bounded on the east and the west by volcanoes. To the west is Kanaga Volcano, a beautiful perfect cone, and to the east by Great Sitkin, which nearly always is at least smoking and erupted in the early 1970's.

UFO Investigator Brian Vike’s Note: I had a nice telephone conversation with an ex-serviceman by the name of Art. Art was stationed on Adak Island Aleutian Islands and was part of the crash crew for the fire department.

One late night in January 1976 at the airport, the control tower personnel rang the crash crew and told the members that an aircraft was going to be landing. The crash crew members jumped up and peered out the window and did not see an airplane of any kind, but rather a glowing object approximately 50 feet across. (Art told me it was the brightest light that he has ever seen in his life)

Art said it was really eerie to watch, and the humming that came from the UFO, seemed to resonate throughout all of the crash teams bodies.

One has to remember that the crash team was still inside their building when they could feel the humming, but they eventually did move outside and stood approximately 100 feet away from this huge and extremely bright UFO which was hovering just over the tarmac pretty much in front of the control tower and of course all the men watching.

As everyone stood looking at this unidentified object, more bright lights about the size of a Volkswagen came from out of the hovering UFO and flew at an incredible fast rate of speed up to a communication station which was located on a nearby hill and sat stationary on it. Another light went down and hovered over the bunkers.

After a period of time the lights that were zipping around did come back to the main object and merged into it. All of a sudden the large UFO took off at such a high rate of speed it left all of the personnel watching it dumfounded. As Art mentioned, we have nothing here on earth that could move as quickly as this thing did and

I would certainly be in agreement with Art on this.

The control tower called the crash crew and asked, "what the hell was that"! The crew replied back, it was a UFO! Art remembers one of the personnel in the control tower cursing, as this was something one does not see every day, and he also mentioned that the object was as bright as the sun and lit up the entire area as if it was daylight.

Art said, they were really frightened, they were young men at the time, Art being 19 years old. The thirteen men stood looking at one another saying, "what the heck was that"?

Soon afterwards, or after the event was over which left a lot of men scratching their heads, the officer of the day showed up and confronted the men and told them what they all saw was "Ball Lightning". Art's response to the officer of the day was, if that was ball lightning, then it had to be the largest display of lightning on record. Art also said he would be more than willing to sit down and take a lie detector test to provide what he is relating is the truth.

He also mentioned that there were people taking pictures of the object. He could not remember who these people were, but when the pictures came back, Art remembers everyone looking at them and seeing nothing but a bright, camera flash type light in each of the photos. One just wasn't able to see anything other than this brilliant white light.

Art also figures the object sat stationary just feet about the tarmac for 10 to 15 minutes. This object wasn't flying by, it was sitting still for a long period of time in front of all these men. Also he said that the UFO incident was placed into the crash crews logbook and also in the control tower's logbook as well.

Art sat down on another day following the sighting and wrote a letter to his family back home. This was a personal letter, asking how things were, etc., then Art added that he saw a UFO. He described just a little about what he saw.

Brian Vike has not removed any of the names or information. I asked Art if I should remove names and he told me to leave the letter as is.

The family members who are mentioned in this letter have passed away. I have also added a link to the envelope the letter came in.

After the family members passed on a lot of their possessions were given back to family and this is how Art came into possession again of his letter.

There is a longer audio for this, but I was not able to locate it.

Base Police Rousted Out Around 10 Military Personal At Loring AFB UFO Incident

 Date:  Winter 1971/1972

Loring AFB UFO incident. I was stationed at Loring 1971-1975. During my first year in the winter of '71/'72 I and about ten others were rousted out of our bunks by base police and driven to what was then referred to as East Base.

This was the area where the nukes were stored. We entered the secure area and proceeded to the perimeter fence that had been damaged.

We were given snowshoes and fencing pliers. An area of about 100 feet diameter had been smashed down along with a portion of fencing.

We put on the snowshoes and tried to navigate the deep snow. None of us had ever used snowshoes before. After some time, we finally got the fence repaired and were taken back to our barracks.

We were told not to talk about this to anyone, ever. True story.

If anyone has witnessed the light/object on the date and time, and location, would you please send me an email with details of what you saw, please remember to include the date and time and location. (Town/City – State or Province)

Vancouver A Hotspot For Sightings From Outer Space (UFOs)

CTV Vancouver
Published Thursday, May 22, 2014 6:08PM PDT

The city that once played host to The X-Files is also the best place in Canada to spot a flying saucer, according to the Canadian UFO Survey.

That’s right: If the truth is out there, Vancouver is probably a good place to find it.

There were 116 UFO sightings reported in the city last year alone, with the average encounter lasting 13 minutes.

The Vike Factor – Posting Of Brian Vike’s Major UFO Cases (The Vike Files)

Posted:  October 24, 2013

Important Notice: Brian Vike, Canadian UFO investigator and owner of “The Vike Factor”, “The Vike Report Radio Show" and editor of the “Canadian Communicator Magazine” and past owner of HBCC UFO Research has been re-posting his large UFO cases on the main blog.

A lot of these cases have audio reports (telephone interviews Brian Vike did with eyewitnesses) which can give a lot more detail to a UFO sighting than just the text report.

From the two year major UFO flap in British Columbia and other large cases all across Canada, the United States and Worldwide, Brian Vike brings sighting reports of unusual lights, saucer shaped UFOs, gigantic football sized Black Triangle craft, military sightings around sensitive bases and on and on it goes.

Brian received “thousands” of sighting reports over the years and so many of them turned out to be amazing cases.

All of these reports are now being posted and can be found at:

I thank everyone who filed their sighting as they were all so very interesting.

Bay Of Biscay Experience 1970 - UFO

Vike, being a retired art teacher, living in western Ohio, I am far removed from the events on the Bay of Biscay in 1970.

Yet the feelings I acquired then seem like they started yesterday.

The illustration comes very close to what appeared to me. Thank you.

Bay of Biscay Experience 1970

Amidships on a Destroyer there is low, flat, open space. The picture below shows, from an archive photo, the USS Dyess (DD-880). It was aboard this small craft that an incident occurred which will haunt me for the rest of my life.

From the front (bow), going toward the rear, there are two gun turrets. Behind those is a big complex of two towers, called the superstructure.

Immediately after that is a low, dark, sunken area. On that night in July, 1970, I sat alone above it on a set of steps, so that I was looking forward in the direction of the superstructure.

I couldn’t believe that I had this beautiful scene all to myself. Billions of stars and a brilliant full moon illuminated the calm, smooth ocean’s surface.

This setting was further enhanced by the balmy temperature. The absence of my shipmates was, at first, no concern.

Soon, however, I was confronted with something that would send me inside the nearest hatchway for cover.

The next page shows where the whole thing happened.

Caption for picture above: USS Dyess (DD-180) ~ Black arrow indicates location of occurrence.

Caption for map left: Position of ship near the West Coast of France as shown by black rectangle.

The first sensation was that of being frozen in time. I was relaxed, yet found I was unable to move.

Then there suddenly appeared on the deck below me, about twenty feet away, a glowing, truly luminous cloud.

It was silent and its edges were yellow-green wisps. Spherical in form and not solid, but gaseous, it swirled inside as it hovered above the steel-plated deck. In my dreamlike state I lost track of the minutes.

The neon blue-green apparition had materialized in an instant, but then began slowly to transform, and darken, as it shrank down from twelve feet in diameter. While doing so, its semi-transparent nature thickened and the edges became well-defined.

Any haziness was replaced by a strange figure, human in size. The deep cyan vision had a full body, head, arms, legs, hands and feet, while it began to dance about joyfully. A performance that seems like it was yesterday, I recall it with trepidation now, forty-two years later.

What began without warning vanished just as quickly, leaving me alone and mystified.

Image left: Left is an illustration of the situation as it appeared.

Although reconstructed more than four decades after the event, to me this is of no concern, because the memory is as fresh as last night.

Although I did move inside after experiencing this, it was not due to fear.

Actually, the contact gave me a feeling of comfort and knowing.

Aircraft Scrambled Over UFO Sighting At Lake Saint Claire Just Off Selfridge AFB Near Mt Clemens Michigan

Date:  Winter of 1966 - 1967

In 1965 it was common to see strange things flying around the radar dome up on the mountain. Often they did not show up on radar, but were visible just outside the dome itself.

Sometime in the Winter of 66-67 we had a couple of "things" flying over Lake Saint Claire just off Selfridge AFB, near Mt Clemens MI. They scrambled two F-106s and of course they caught nothing.

It is difficult when the other aircraft can suddenly accelerate to high speed and do and 90 degree turn at that speed.

The Air Force said it was swamp gas, and anyone who disagreed could stay in the base confinement (jail) until they realized they saw nothing. Like Sgt. Schultz on Hogan's heroes, I see nothing, nothing, nothing!

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Navy Personal Observe A 30 Foot In Diameter Red UFO From The USS Preserver

Date:  1984
Time:  Evening.

In 1984 I was a US Navy Diver stationed on board the USS Preserver, ARS-8. We were on a routine excursion to Pensacola, FL from our home port in Little Creek, VA to recover the wreck of a downed Navy Trainer, A-4 I believe.

En route headed south just east of Cape Hatteras we noticed that our stern running light was out and needed to replace it as dusk was approaching. The aft third of an ARS is all salvage deck and diving space (hydraulic and electrical gear below along with the diving locker) and as such was our responsibility for all maintenance and repairs.

Not a big deal as all that was needed was to lower the flag staff and replace the bulb. The evening meal was being served on the mess decks and while we were changing out the bulb and BS-ing when we saw what appeared to be a flare off to the east.

Oddly enough the 'flare' rose in the sky, disappeared or extinguished then reappeared and whizzed off in a near vertical motion. This was most unusual, but since we thought it was a flare, we reported it to the bridge as a normal course of procedure. We were speculating on the odd occurrence and why a 'flare' would behave in such a peculiar manner.

Could it have been a UFO? Our fellow sailors were now coming out of the galley, one by one and were gathering as we were describing what had happened. For the most part everyone thought we were just being ignorant and dismissed our speculations as just that.

By now it was dark and a very clear night. While in the midst of our banter between divers and the rest of the crew, one of the non-partisans to our little story became pale and his eyes opened as if he had just seen a ghost. He pointed into the sky off the starboard gunwale and we all saw it, a red orb.

This light reminds me for all the world like the little trailing red UFO on Close Encounters (I am just watching it for the umpteenth time which is what caused me to look up 'glowing red light UFO' on Google. This red orb hung with us for awhile and seemed to be about 30' in diameter, though it had no real form.

Our boat only ran at about 13 knots, so this thing was just keeping pace and made not a single sound. We all hustled up to the signal bridge to try to catch a glimpse through the "big eyes", the mounted binocular telescope used by the signal watch.

While on the signal bridge (which happens to be directly above the bridge of the ship where Ops and the Captain are situated) we could hear radio chatter from Coast Guard vessels and other vessels calling the Preserver to inquire about the contact that was showing exactly on our position.

In almost an instant the red orb took off at what seemed like an unimaginable speed again with no sound. We spent the rest of the night looking up towards the heavens, but never saw another thing like the red orb that would mark its place in our memories for the rest of our lives!

Military Guard With Canine Observe UFO Over The Canon AFB Clovis Mexico (Jets Scrambled)

Date: 1970’s
Time: Approx: 3:00 a.m.

A Vike Factor Note: Over the years I have received a number of excellent UFO sighting reports that have taken place over the Canon AFB Clovis Mexico. I have been working on these reports and hoping others who served at the AFB would contact me if they have any knowledge of UFO sightings over the base. Please remember, your personal information is kept private. Thank you, Brian.

Hi Brian, saw your website. My name is (name removed) AFB, Canon AFB Clovis Mexico. I would like to tell you of my encounter with a UFO, My Serial # was (removed), which you can check from record book on the apswho. I was walking the tarmac guarding F-100 Sabre Jets. Let me explain at this time my encounter, it was about 3:00am I was walking with my canine, a shepherd called Olex, when I looked into the night sky and saw a bright dot. The object I saw was moving radically left to right up and down and this is something I've never seen before.

I kept staring at it and couldn't believe what I saw. The object moved so radically that I called base command. Base command sent four Sabre Jets for what I explained to them. As the jets took off, I saw the object moving faster and more radically. When the jets came back the crews of the Jets shook their heads and said we couldn't get it.

One captain told me they saw it and it was gone in a flash still shaking their heads. So I guess Brian, there are really UFO's? I just wanted to tell you this because I know in the real world we don’t identify other sources of life, but this was an encounter that I have to tell you before my days our ended. Thank you for what your doing and maybe people will look more at night into the sky and see the real happening. Thank you.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

Military Serviceman Films UFO Over Camp Pendleton (Pictures)

Date: August 19, 2010
Time: Approx: 8:30 p.m.

Here is the picture that I took from my iPhone. There were several witnesses in my base housing area that saw it. At first there were 3 lights forming a triangle. Then one of the lights (the one in the bottom right corner disappeared. I was able to snap this photo before it finally disappeared entirely. It happened on August 19, 2010 at approximately 8:30pm.

After the sighting I called PMO and the Sgt on duty said that they've received numerous phone calls about the strange lights and that it was the Game Warden using a spotlight. Included is the original photo and I went on my iMac and zoomed in and tried to change the exposure to see the object better. Not sure if you guys can professionally clean up and zoom in on the photo, but you can see an outline of a triangular craft.

If you have any other questions regarding the UFO sighting please feel free to contact me via email or call my cell phone at (number removed). Please update me on any information you guys might have.

If you have seen anything like this in the same area please be kind enough to contact Brian Vike at: sighting@telus.net with the details of your sighting. All personal information is kept confidential.

UFO - Airman Assigned To The 27th Tactical Air Command At Cannon AFB

The Vike Factor Note: The report below is new one to a growing list of incidents that took place at the Cannon AFB, in NM. With so many servicemen who have filed reports of unknown objects over the base, it certainly has become clear that the Cannon AFB was a location for many UFO sightings. I would like to ask if any other folks have information about the UFO incidents that took place at the Cannon AFB, would you please contact Brian Vike at: v_factor_paranormal@live.com Thank you and please note that your privacy is respected. Also there is going to be a audio interview added to this report shortly.

Brian, Per our phone conversation, this is the "sanitized" and completed events of June, 1975 at Cannon AFB, NM:

Let me go ahead and lay my experience out for you.

I was an Airman, assigned to the 27th Tactical Air Command at Cannon AFB and I worked the swing shift on the flight line. It was a Friday night and as usual, I checked the ops board for sorties. F111-Ds had a nasty habit of landing broke more often than not and on Friday nights, that meant swing shift stayed late to fix any "red x" entries in the A/C maintenance log. I was relieved to note that nothing was scheduled and so I only needed to finish my shift and start the weekend.

At around 10:00pm, I heard the afterburners of F111s taking off. Thinking they could be from another base, I ran outside to see. Our base identifier, "CC", was on the vertical stabilizers of the two F111-Ds that were taking off in combat formation - two staggered abreast and simultaneous. I had never seen our birds take off like that - it was simply not done.

I approached our dispatcher and told him we had just launched two. We were both upset because we weren't supposed to have any training sorties that night and nobody wanted to stay late on a Friday. He called Ops and they told him it was a hot scramble after bogeys over the base that the radar shack was tracking. I found out later that MMS (Munitions Maintenance Squadron) loaded the F111's with live air-to-air ordinance. I also heard that it wasn't the first scramble during this time frame, but I personally was not witness to any others.

The dispatcher happened to be friends with the radar operator on duty, so we called the radar shack and put him up on the external speaker. The (veteran) radar operator was totally flummoxed. He was tracking "two or three" bogeys making impossible aerial maneuvers at impossible speeds - at least 3,000 MPH - disappearing and re-appearing. He checked and double-checked his gear and it was fine - no malfunction (he was tracking our F111's fine). I jotted down the phone number to the radar shack and stuck it in my fatigue shirt pocket.

The two A/C landed about 45 minutes later, no ordinance expended and they were in good order - no late night work for me. I heard later that the pilots were not debriefed in the normal manner. I left the shop for the Airman's Club, socialized over a pitcher of beer and played some foosball. I made it back to the barracks at about 2:00AM. Seeing the phone on the CQ's desk, I decided to call the radar site - it was a small portable building out in the middle of a field. I was curious and wanted an update on the bogey situation.

The phone at the other end was answered by a "Capt. Kowalski". (A captain in the radar shack at 2:00am on a Saturday morning??? no way! was what I thought.) I asked for the radar operator by name and the Capt.. stated that he was not there. His voice was loud and threatening. As a young airman, I was truly frightened by his aggressiveness and almost hung up.

To cut to the chase, Capt. K. interrogated me for some time about who I was, why I was calling and so forth. During that time, a few things became clear to me:

1. He was definitely not USAF. He used terms such as "serial number" and "CO" which were common to other branches of the armed forces, but not used by USAF personnel. Whoever he was and whomever he worked for, his cover was blown.

2. He may not have even been military. He swore - no curse words excepted - with every sentence, lost his temper constantly, or appeared to for effect, and sounded more like a street thug than an "officer and a gentleman". To use a military phrase, he had no "military bearing". Having been raised in a military family, military bearing is not something one comes by naturally, nor is it easily relinquished.

3. I probably should never have called for that update!

Capt. K told me the incident never happened. When I refuted him, by saying I had watched the aircraft scramble and spoke with the radar operator, he stated that I was either insane or on drugs. His voice was constantly at a yelling volume and his demeanor, highly intimidating. He stated that "we can do things to you that make Leavenworth (max-security federal penitentiary) look like a picnic". Capt. K. told me they would be watching me and that I was never to mention this "non-event" to anyone. He also stated, "it's a big desert out there - people get lost all the time". I got the point.

In the ensuing days, I attempted to locate this Capt. Kowalski, entertaining the notion of bringing him up on charges of "behavior unbecoming an officer". He simply did not exist anywhere on base. I contacted the Communications Squadron who runs the radar shack to see if they know who this Capt.. was. I was surprised when I discovered that the radar operator had suddenly gotten orders to a "classified location".... nobody knew where he went and none of his friends knew about any pending orders. Imho, he was conveniently disappeared.

I have provided the details of this event to The Disclosure Project. They in turn asked if I would be willing to travel to Washington D.C. and testify before Congress to that effect. My answer to them was and still is, "affirmative".

Artillery Takes Out Landed UFO At Da Nang, RVN - Happy Valley In 1966

Date: Between February and July of 1966
Time: 2:00 - 4:00 a.m.

Location of Sighting: Da Nang, RVN - Happy Valley.
Number of witnesses: Unknown.
Number of Objects: Believed to be 1
Shape of Objects: Unknown.

Brian Vike's, The Vike Factor Note: If anyone else who served at this time and in this area and have any information about this event, please do contact Brian Vike, The Vike Factor at v_factor_paranormal@live.com with a detailed report. Thank you.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: Radar track from Danang, and Aerial observer. Taken out by Artillery fire. More info if you are interested. Did not get any TDA following the counter fire.

Additional Information:

Hi Brian,

I am guessing you are in British Columbia, or the Pacific Northwest. Quite a bit out of my normal travel area. Anyway, it is still good to hear from you and to learn of your organization.

I was in the US Marine Corps, and served in the SE Asia area during 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, and 1969. It was during my 1965-66 tour that we were located to the northeast of Da Nang, and I was in an Artillery Fire Direction Center (FDC). We controlled close to 100 Field Artillery pieces in the Da Nang area, and could bring about 500 rounds onto one football field sized spot in about 3 minutes.

I have had some injuries from auto crashes since then and do not remember just when the incident occurred, but it was between February and July of 1966. I was on the late night shift and we got a call from the air base that a UFO had come in and landed at a set of coordinates generated by the GCA Radar. These plotted out in an area that we referred to as "Happy Valley." The IFF response had been un heeded and the radar and visual tracking from an airborne craft in the area did not match any known aircraft. Since we were close to the DMZ, no one wanted to take any chances and we were given clearance to fire all available artillery on it. We had about 70+ pieces that could range the target so we plotted a time on target mission and fired 6 rounds per piece on the target.

The GCA radar kept watch on the area and the observer stayed a safe distance out of the lines of fire. We got the usual artillery bursts and at the end of the barrage there was a huge flash that registered on the GCA radar. The air observer reported that nothing had left the area, and it was too dark to look for damage until sunup. We filed the fire mission request and record of fire with the other log sheets and had been advised that a ground crew was going in for TDA at first light. When we came on shift 2 days later we looked for the record of fire sheet to see what the ground crew had found.

We were amazed to find that the entire set of records for that mission had vanished. No one would admit to being told to pull it and we never did find out what we had hit other than the initial comments that had come back to us while we were firing on the target. I still have no clue what we shot. It was big and got a lot of people excited. No other sightings were reported in our area that I heard about before I left in August of 1966. This has always been a puzzling experience, wandering around in the back of my mind. I have often wondered if we had in deed taken out an extraterrestrial space craft, and how badly we had irritated whom ever it belonged to.

Sorry I don't have more or better descriptive information on the craft or the post attack findings.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell this story. I would be interested in hearing about any thing that may have been found out about this incident as it has been bothering me for over 40 years now.

Thanks, and best wishes to you.

Additional Information:

Maybe there is more there than I realize, but I think your interview would be quite short. My involvement in this was minimal, albeit that I was an excellent FDC data computer and chart operator -- took out a 3ft. wide suspension bridge with 2 shots once at 14,000 yards with an aerial observer, Australian Chap, and a darn, fine one at that! Never did get to meet the fellow, just a voice on the radio.

I would appreciate hearing about any other information that may surface on this one. I think I still keep one eye out over the brush any time I go out. Had to have really irritated someone!

Back about 1983 in December, I was flying back to St. Louis, from Phoenix, for a week of training, and we were routed through the Denver airport. We
were in the four corners area (AZ, UT, NM, CO) and I was looking out the window, Rt. side, a couple of rows behind the wing, -- always like to see where I am going and what is on the ground, if possible -- We were at about 34,000 ft, and there was some cloud cover at about 25,000 - 28,000 ft. I was watching the terrain transition as we came out of the NE Arizona barren landscape, and suddenly became aware of a large dome-shaped object at about 29-30,000 ft. It appeared to be shaped similar to a State capitol building, except it had a lot of antenna arrays on it. The bottom that I could see, appeared to be flat. It was hovering for about 20 seconds and then it descended slowly into a cloud bank. I did not see any flashing lights, or moving parts. It was a dull silver-gray color. It was just a surprising.

The antenna arrays were the most surprising thing to me about the surface of the object. I felt no rush of excitement or panic, just marveled at the size and appearance. I was looking at the object at about a 10 degree down angle and estimated that it was about 1 - 1 1/2 miles away. I would guess that it was about 75 ft. wide and about 45 - 50 ft. high. I was wide awake and I don't drink or use mind altering drugs -- legal or illegal. I have never seen another unidentified object in the air. This was really a strange experience.

Anyway, that is the extent of my UFO mystery experiences. Best wishes to you and your group. Maybe one of these days we will get it all sorted out!
Best wishes to you.

My many thanks to this gentleman for sending in this amazing report.

Military Man Observes UFO At Phuoc Vinh, Vietnam

Posted: March 28, 2009

Date: 1969
Time: 21:00 hrs - 23:00 hrs

Location of Sighting: Phuoc Vinh, Vietnam.
Number of witnesses: Just me, as far as I know.
Number of Objects: 1
Shape of Objects: Couldn't be sure, far away.

Full Description of Event/Sighting: I was pulling Green-line duty with 3 other 1st Cav. soldiers who were sleeping. I had a star light scope, a radio and all the stuff you would expect in/on a bunker. This bunker was a big well fortified bunker. We were all on top of this bunker from my best recollection. I was pulling my stint, let the others sleep. This bunker was on the western facing perimeter. This night was a beautiful night with no overcast. Many small brilliant stars were in the night sky. No moon, as far as I remember especially facing out west. The starlight scope was working very well. I'm going into a little detail to set the stage leading up to my sighting. I know it's not to the point Please bear with me.

As I was scanning the western night sky. and all of a sudden something to the Northwest caught my eye. It was a very brilliant whitish, silver and with a hint of blue more of a rounded shape. It was fairly far away. The main thing about this object was it would move to my left, or South in jerky movements , hover, do it again and again. It never lost the same brilliance or colors the entire time. Additionally it left a amber or reddish trail (like a tracer) as it moved only to suddenly stop on a dime. I watched this thing for several minutes.

By this time it was in the Southern Horizon. Then, all of a sudden it shot up skyward on a 45 degree angle towards the North. It was totally out of sight in seconds. I was thinking should I report this? I decided not. I would wait to see if anyone else would, then I would to. I didn't have the presence of mine to wake the other guys. Mainly, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I have reported this to Mufon about 1-2 years ago. I keep my eyes skyward quite a bit now. I've had 2 other sightings. One, in Poerta Vallarta Mexico. last year 2008.

It was a fast mover across Banderos Bay 20-30 miles in only several seconds. It was very dim,in a very dark night sky. The other was a very unusual huge transparent round ball shaped thing. It had either port holes or crater like figures within it. We were driving North in Lockport, Illinois when I looked up about 60 degrees high in the sky. It was moving pretty fast, Maybe a thousand MPH. It was in the clouds, but I could easily make out the outline of this, whatever it was. That about sums up stuff I've seen. There is no doubt in my mine about my 1969 R.V.N. sighting. That, was not from this world. I hope this helps.

Thank you to the witness for their sighting report.
